My result at SCKLM

Posted by admin on Jul-1-2009

I believe my blog’s visitors are tired with the SCKLM story, but I think this would be the last update on SCKLM event. Finally, I got the result for SCKLM. My position is at 482, and I completed the run in 1 hour 6 minutes and 4 seconds! The position is really out of my expectation. I thought I would at more than 1500! If you have participated SCKLM, you can check your result at here, just have to remember your bib number.

There is another website which comprises of the runner’s finishing picture… I have checked mine, seems like I am struggling at the end of run. But I can only view the thumbnail, full picture has to pay. Eventhough this was my first run in my life, but I will not spend money for that. It is selling at SGD30++ per picture. You can check your picture at HERE! Have fun!

I completed my first 10km SCKLM run

Posted by admin on Jun-28-2009

I woke up at 5am this morning because of Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009 (SCKLM 2009) event. I had two breads and one bar of Sneaker as my breakfast, and then go to LRT station to catch up the first train. This is Sunday morning, but it is packed with people that joined the same Marathon.

I was joining the 10KM run. So, it was started at 7am from Dataran Merdeka. This category had the most participants. When we arrived, we just go directly to the starting point and wait for the wiser to start the race!

This is my first time joining Marathon race, also the first time I running outdoor. I always run on treadmill at gym center. I have to say running on the road will be slightly harder than treadmill. At the end, I manage to complete my 10KM in 67minutes. This is not a good record, but is my virgin run! After the run, we were queuing up for the finisher medal. One thing very funny was they didn’t check anything but just give you the medal.

There was a critical complaint from those who ran for full marathon (42++KM). They couldn’t get water at the water station and also no banana at re-charge food station. The stupid organizer expects runners can finish their journey without supplying water, funny?

After I came back to home, I felt hungry and eat quite a lot for today, haha! The next run for me would be Shape Run, on 25th July 2009. See you there!

My dissapointment on SCKLM race pack collection

Posted by admin on Jun-27-2009

Yeah, I have collected my Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009 (SCKLM) race pack yesterday. When I opened the race pack, it was just fulled of disappointment. Let me tell you one-by-one about incidents during the race pack collection day, even though I was not there :p

For your information, a total of 12,500 of people registered to this SCKLM. During the collection day, the computer system was down due to the heavy pour. Then, everything became so unorganized. I heard some people queued up more than two hours under the hot sun just to collect the race pack. Some runner couldn’t get their bibs, I am one of them. I suppose to run in 0294 but they couldn’t find my bibs, so I have to take 0293. I tell you, if someone happens to be champion and get the wrong bib number, I can imagine the mess during the verification process.

Then, I requested size ‘M‘ for my vest. OMG, the size is ridiculously small for a man. It is really tight and look awful when I am wearing it! Keone double confirm with the person in charge for the size, they said yes, that is for man’s M!

There are a lot of flyers inside and other promotional pamphlets from Standard Chartered. I can say, nothing inside is useful except vest and bibs. Unlike other Marathon which will provide relevant sample to the runners. This Standard Charted put mortgage flyer, credit card application form in the race pack. I just, speechless!

This is my first 10 KM run in my entire life. I truly disappointed with Standard Chartered as the event organizer, from the process to the race pack.

Update:

Now I confirmed the vest that I got is for FEMALE! They are IDIOT, how can they make a fault confirmation to the public! Where can I complaint about this? I want to exchange my vest!

I need a holiday, how about you?

Posted by admin on Jun-22-2009

Perhaps I am so busy at work, I always think of going for holidays recently. Besides, I heard my friends plan for their holiday and it makes me more tempted! It is not only to escape from hectic work schedule but also to relief my tension at work. I don’t think I could finished all my tasks even though IF I have been given 25 hours a day, so why not I just take a break and go somewhere else?

One of my friends decided take tours to Italy for their honeymoon. I just saw their pictures in FaceBook. I feel sorry because I did not attend their wedding. The pictures tell me that how beautiful the Europe is. Since it was a honeymoon, so they choose to go with escorted tours which technically will arrange all the things for them. Hence, they just enjoyed the arrangement that has been prepared by the travel agent. Indeed, they gave excellent comments for the arrangement when I asked them about it. Perhaps they were in the honeymoon mood, everything just nice and beautiful.

(Thanks to Jack for providing picture in Italy during his honeymoon)

Another colleagues told me that they will be going to Japan for honeymoon. They take the tour arrangement as well. I have never followed any tour arrangement before and keen to go for it. Where I wish to go for my holiday? I will say I want to have cruise holidays! Do you need a holiday too?
