Everyday we open up the newspaper, we can not avoid from social problems. It is getting more serious recently.

As I read in the paper, a 16 years old boy lured a 14 years old girl to an emptied house in Taman Suria and gang raped her. Besides, there are a boy recorded the rape with the mobile phone’s video cam.

We read the same kind of news almost everyday, but the same things keep happening. People never learnt the lesson.

The incident of a kid being attacked by leopard had raised the safety issue in Zoo Negara. A girl was clawed from the back and suffered injuries to her neck and mouth, and is currently recuperating in hospital.

There were quite some different points of views from various parties:

The Zoo Director claimed that the parents should pay attention on their kids while visiting Zoo. He said it was a one-off incident and causing of uncooperative from the public. Public should follow the signboard and avoid any prohibited actions.

However, the parents said that there wasn’t any signboard around on that time. The signboard we saw at TV now is newly placed. So, the parents are considering suing the Zoo Director and Zoo.

There are too many different stories for same topic. Let’s see how is the progress in future.

The most widely spoke Chinese dialect in Taiping is Hokkien.I emphasized this in case you come to visit Taiping.

I found that many food stalls starting to use Cantonese while ordering foods, I don’t understand why. Frankly, if you talked Cantonese to me while I am at Taiping, I normally refuse to buy foods from you. Because you didn’t give me the feeling like I’ve come back to Taiping. Unless you speak Mandarin, this is common used in Taiping as well.

Perhaps there are many outsiders came to Taiping to run their business. So they have brought their Cantonese culture to Taiping. But, I want to tell you, please learn your Hokkien before you come. This is our culture.

I have so long time didn’t celebrate DongZhi (冬至) with my family. I think it is since 10 years ago when I enrolled into University. So, I have almost 10 years didn’t taste my mum’s home made Tang Yuan (汤圆).

This year I manage to celebrate it with my family. My mum asked me to help her to roll the rice balls. I have seen some blogger post about their Tang Yuan, there are so appealing.

My mum likes to make colorful Tang Yuan. All colors are made from natural source, except yellow. I understand that the Tang Yuan is not that appealing at the end, but I can feel the warmest of it.

Today is my last working day for year 2007.

I will start on leave tomorrow and go back to hometown. This is my common routine for every year end. I will go back starting from Christmas untill New year~

This time I need to drive alone back to Taiping. Frankly, driving alone is quite boredom. Anyone wants to follow me go back to Taiping? haha~!
