I went to Melaka last weekend. It was for working purposes, so basically I didn’t visit to many places in Melaka. As you know, Melaka is a historical place and plenty choices of food that you can try. So, I will tell you one-by-one about my experience in Melaka.

At first, we chose to stay in a budget hotel. Indeed, I was not the one who decided it, I just follow the whole group. Then, we booked 10 rooms at Metropole Hotel in Melaka. I tell you, this is the worst hotel that I ever stayed before! The hotel is poor managed, and really old. Perhaps this is to match with the image in Melaka, old.

We paid RM80/ room/ night, excluding breakfast. The space in room is quite okay, but I don’t feel comfortable with their mattress and blanket. I doubt it was really cleaned. Toilet and bathroom, it was puddle inside! For a clean hotel, I will boil water in the room just because I need plenty of water. But, I don’t even dare to touch that water heater at all… Other matters such as most of the light in the room were not functioning, phone in the room was not functioning, green color towel, and more…

So, I highly recommend you NOT to stay in Metropole Hotel in Melaka if possible. Unless, you are really out of budget and you wouldn’t mind on the quality of the environment.

Have you heard about Daidomon Japanese Buffet Restaurant? Honestly speaking, I don’t know this restaurant at all until one of the forumers told me that this restaurant is located at Great Eastern Mall. Now, they are celebrating 27th Anniversary! So, Daidomon Japanese Buffet restaurant is having a promotion during the celebration.

It is a Japanese BBQ buffet, same as Yaki-Yaki BBQ Buffet that I visited last month. Now, they are offering lunch at RM39.90++ and dinner at RM49.90++. By looking at the price range, I was quite tempted with this promotion. BUT, when I look at the promotion period, it is 31st May 2009! So, if you want to pamper yourself with a buffet meal, maybe this is the great place for you~! (I will be going to Tenji Japanese buffet for my supper tonight, hooray~!)

Have you heard about Happy prepaid card in Malaysia? It offers affordable call rate to their customers. I bought it last time because I was attracted by the 45 minutes call with just a fixed charge. However, I don’t have an extra phone, so I just gave it to my brother.

I believe Happy prepaid phone card is worthwhile because the tariff charge is fairly cheap. This is suitable for those who are staying in Malaysia for short term but need a local sim pack to contact their friends in Malaysia. But now with the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service, it makes me think of changing my current DiGi number to Happy…

If you want to get a new Happy Simpack, I will suggest you buy it online and pay by using Maybank Online or Cimb Clicks. By applying this method, you just pay for RM10 but you could get a simpack with RM30 talk time inside! Perhaps I should get one for temporary use… haha!

McDonalds is really aggressive. They started with selected set lunch in lower price during weekdays, and then expand it to weekends. After that, they added few set lunch with higher price. Now, they even expand it to McDelivery! It means you can now enjoy McDonalds set lunch from 12pm-3pm by calling their delivery service!

This kind of promotion really shows a big impact to me. Nowadays if I have no idea what to have for my lunch during weekends, then I will think of McDonalds. I even had McDonalds in Melaka when I was hungry at that time! Spicy McChicken Deluxe which is selling at RM7.95+ is my favorite!

Anyway, I will not go to have lunch if McDonalds take off this promotion. The original price is too expensive. I believe McDonalds will lengthen their promotion period to dinner… What do you think?

It has been quite long time I didn’t go to Melaka. When I was studying at UTM, I followed a group of friends went to Melaka for few times during weekend. That’s really my sweet memory.

I will travel to Melaka again tomorrow. I have to say this trip mainly is for working purposes. Anyway, I will try to enjoy this 2D1N in Melaka. Then, I will blog Melaka after I am back… Stay tune ya~
