Wedding dinner? or supper?

Posted by admin on Jun-21-2009

I attended my colleague’s wedding dinner last night. The dinner was held at the heart of KL city, Imbi Palace. The dinner should start at 7pm, based on what has been written on the invitation card.

Based on what has been told by all of my friends, the wedding dinner at KL will never be punctual. It will delay at least one hour. Anyway, I tried my best to go there as early as possible even though I need to work until 5pm. However, due to hectic jam in PJ and KL, I really could not make it on time. Furthermore, I don’t know the exact location of the restaurant so I had to drive to another colleague’s house and go with him. So, the process took longer than expected.

At the end, I arrived at 8:10pm, I felt so embarrassing because probably the dinner had started. But, when I walked into the hall, the dishes had not been served yet, there were still numbers of empty seats! Then I was just speechless. I saw my other colleagues were there for quite some time and had already no topic to talk about.

Finally, dinner started at 8:45pm and ended 10:45pm. Perhaps we shall rephrase it as wedding supper, should be more appropriate, haha!

  1. Fishman Said,

That’s what called Malaysia time, I think. However I never learn. I would still turn up for wedding dinners on time, and everytime I would be sitting alone on my table waiting for my table-mates to arrive.

  2. Jys Said,

wow… about 9pm only dinner start? that’s quite late, normally around 8 they’ll start lar..
